Kita Karuizawa - University Village
National Route 146, aka Japan Romantic Avenue, leads north from Naka Karuizawa Station on the Shinano Railway. This road passes through the Hoshino Resort area, a popular tourist destination, and heads toward Kusatsu and Tsumagoi in Gunma Prefecture.
Kita Karuizawa is literally the generic name for the area north of Karuizawa, just after entering Gunma Prefecture from Nagano Prefecture on Route 146. South part of Naganohara town, Gunma is officially named "Kita Karuizawa," but in real estate terms, the areas including this Kita Karuizawa district and the south part of neighboring Tsumagoi Village is called Kita Karuizawa.
Daigaku-mura (University Village) is a villa area with a slightly different history among Kita Karuizawa. Originally, there was a discussion among scholors involved in Hosei University to build a villa for academics in this area. Since it is located in the north of Karuizawa, they named this area "Kita Karuizawa" and built the current University Village. Currently you don't have to be a member of the university to buy a property here. The area is managed by a "union" of voluntary residents, and the district management is conducted according to the union rules. On the north side of the district, there is a lake called Shougetsuko (Lake of Moon Illumination), which is famous for its beautiful scenery, and is one of the reasons why the owners buy a property here.
This property is a shaped corner lot of about 1540 sqm near the center of University Village. There is a small old house built in 1964, but it will be delivered as-is.
Don't miss this opportunity to start your vacation life in this refreshing place, which is even higher in altitude than Karuizawa.
