Kariyado is a major residential area of the town located west of Naka Karuizawa. It is said to have originated as a "temporary" post town between Kutsukake-juku and Oiwake-juku post towns on the Old Nakasendo avenue. Along the old Nakasendo avenue, there are areas where old inn-style buildings reminiscent of bygone days stand side by side, but in recent years, the area has been actively developed as a residential area.
The property is a newly built house for sale (construction completed in November 2022) in a corner of a residential park that was newly subdivided. The wooden deck facing directly south and the earthen floor salon next to it form a large relaxing space. The windows on the north side of the first floor living room offer a magnificent view of Mt. Asama.
The house is designed and being built using the “air-pass” construction method, which allows the building to breathe by allowing “air” to “pass” between the exterior and interior walls. This structure allows moisture to escape and keeps the house warm in winter and cool in summer. There is a breathing window in the attic, which can be manually opened and closed. Please check it out for yourself when you are ready to view the house. In Karuizawa, which is known for its high humidity, moisture control is important to ensure the longevity of the house. While many house owners use a number of dehumidifiers in operation to prevent moisture, a house with the air-path construction method is a smart way to achieve this purpose.
We are open for tours. Looking forward to hearing from interested buyer customers.
